Important Notice – Wifi Networks using WPA2 Security

You may have noticed a lot of press over the last few days regarding a new security exploit (Hack) to the very common Wi-Fi encryption protocol “WPA2” that secures many Wi-Fi networks, both in our offices and homes.

Known as the “KRACK” exploit, we have been following this issues over the last couple of weeks and are of the opinion it’s a real threat for businesses and should be remediated as soon as possible.

The Sydney Morning Herald and Newsweek in the US (also many others running this story) provide a pretty good summary of the exploit and potential issues.

We are currently reviewing Wi-Fi controllers and routers that we have provided and that are common in business environments; testing the vulnerability and applying vendors security patching as they become available to help reduce the KRACK exploit risk for our customers should they request.

Mobile phones and tablets are also vulnerable so it is important to update the device operating system to reduce the risk of being impacted by this security exploit.

We recommend that if you are not confident in reviewing your Wi-Fi controllers or routers security yourself, then you send us an email or give us a call to request we look at doing this for you.

You can contact us by emailing or by calling 1300 01 99 88 if you require further information or would like us to review your Wi-Fi network.
